Jupiter square North Node: meaning in the birth chart

Jupiter square the North Node is necessarily square the South Node too: the planet sits at a right angle to the nodal axis, at the bend in the road that leads from what you’ve gained to your direction of growth. It marks a stage you can’t skip. Everything Jupiter governs (faith, the meaning you give your life, the urge to grow, a sense of proportion) has to be integrated consciously before you can travel from the South Node to the North. As long as that work stays unfinished, the tension replays from one situation to the next. Once it’s digested, though, it becomes an engine of rare power.

Day to day, this square swings between excess and lost confidence. You may take on too many projects at once, promise the people close to you more than you can deliver, or switch paths as soon as the enthusiasm fades. Or the opposite: after a disappointment, you stop believing in anything, in yourself or in the future. The script has its variations: a mentor you idealize and then reject, a course dropped halfway, a dramatic fresh start that fixes nothing. They repeat as long as you look elsewhere for a meaning that can only come from you. Beliefs inherited from your family or background weigh on you too, until you dare to examine them.

The lesson of Jupiter square the North Node is a sense of proportion. The task is to build a personal philosophy, tested by experience, rather than adopting someone else’s or rejecting belief altogether. Finish what you start before you break ground on something new, check that a promise is one you can keep before you make it, ask yourself what a project truly gives you before you dive in. Each time you choose right-sized growth over maximum growth, the nodal axis frees up a little more. People with this square often become remarkable guides, because their faith has been through doubt and come out larger.
