Scorpio 1st decan (October 23–November 1): personality and meaning
Pluto rules the first decan of Scorpio alone: you are pure intensity, a will that goes through walls and the capacity to be reborn from anything.
From about October 23 to November 1, depending on the year and time of birth, the first decan of Scorpio concentrates the essence of the sign under Pluto, its modern ruler, with Mars as its traditional one. You’re the most Plutonian Scorpio: magnetic, secretive, absolutely determined, able to see through appearances at a single glance. Nothing superficial satisfies you; you want the truth, the essential, the heart of things. Your inner strength is extraordinary and your resilience legendary: every crisis you get through makes you more powerful, as if you were built to regenerate.
In love, you love totally, exclusively, passionately: you can’t conceive of half measures and you offer absolute loyalty in exchange for unwavering sincerity. Trust is your currency, and betrayal your only limit. At work, the first decan of Scorpio excels in psychology, surgery, investigation, finance, research, crisis management, strategy: anywhere you have to go deep and hold up under pressure. Your relationships are rare and deep; you’re the one who sees clearly into other people’s motives and who, once your friendship is given, defends it to the end.
Your key to growth is transparency. Pluto ruling twice over pushes you toward secrecy, control and preemptive mistrust, and these defenses, useful once, can isolate you and smother your most precious bonds. Learn to show your vulnerability to those who have earned it, to say what you feel before it turns into a storm. When your intensity opens up instead of closing in, it becomes a force of transformation for you and for others, and the Plutonian Scorpio then reveals its highest calling: healing what was hidden.
