Your love potential: how you love, and the love that helps you grow

Enter your birth details: the reading starts from your exact chart and looks at everything in it that speaks of love. Venus and Mars for the way you love, the Moon for what your heart needs, the 7th house for what draws you, then your Navamsha, the Vedic chart of the bond. Six parts, one question: how you love, and which kind of love your chart is pushing you towards.

Your date, time and place of birth. Without the time, the reading works from your planets: the exact time adds the houses, the Ascendant and the Vedic charts.

What this reading looks for in your chart

A birth chart does not hide love in a single box. It spreads it out: one planet for desire, another for tenderness, a house for meeting, a whole chart for what lasts. The reading gathers these pieces in the order they are lived, from the first spark to commitment.

Right under the form, the “What your reading looks at” block shows the positions chosen for you: Venus, Mars, the Moon, the Ascendant and the Descendant, the ruler of the 7th house, Venus in the D9, your Darakaraka. Each one leads to its own page, if you want to know where a sentence comes from. The reading itself is composed from your exact chart, part after part, before your eyes.

The six parts of your love reading

Each part answers a question people really ask when they talk about love, and each one rests on precise positions:

  1. The way you love: Venus and Mars, their signs and houses. Venus tells what you find beautiful and how you give; Mars, how you desire and dare to make the first move.
  2. What your heart needs: the Moon and the 4th house. What reassures you, what makes you feel emotionally safe, the inner climate without which love cannot breathe.
  3. Who draws you: the Descendant, the 7th house and its ruler. The kind of presence you move towards, often what you lack and what completes you.
  4. The love that lasts, in your D9: Venus and the 7th house of the Navamsha, and the Darakaraka, the planet of the spouse in Jaimini astrology.
  5. What love teaches you: the hard aspects of Venus, Mars and the Moon, Saturn, Chiron. Each tension is read as a strength to cultivate.
  6. Your gesture for love: one concrete gesture to make this week, drawn from what your chart asks of you.

Why Venus and Mars open the reading

In astrology, Venus is the planet of attraction, shared pleasure and harmony. Its sign colours the way you love: in Taurus, love goes through constancy and touch; in Gemini, through words and play; in Scorpio, through intensity and complete loyalty. Its house shows where that love is lived most easily: in the 5th with joy and flirtation, in the 10th in full view, in the 12th quietly.

Mars completes the picture. Where Venus receives, Mars goes out to get: it shows your drive, your way of declaring yourself, what takes you from wanting to acting. Mars in Aries rushes in, Mars in Cancer protects before revealing itself, Mars in Libra waits for the other to take a step. Reading both together avoids a lopsided portrait, all softness or all desire. The planets page details each one.

The Moon and the 4th house: need before desire

Someone can attract you without your feeling at ease near them. That is where the Moon comes in. It does not describe who appeals to you, it describes what you need to relax: words, presence, space, stability. A Moon in Aquarius likes to be given room to breathe; a Moon in Cancer needs a home and rituals; a Moon in Sagittarius, shared horizons.

The 4th house, the root of the chart, adds your idea of home. It matters for love more than people think: a bond that lasts always ends up becoming a place you come back to. The reading looks at its sign and at the planets inside it, then ties them to the Moon.

The Descendant and the 7th house: what draws you

The Descendant is the point exactly opposite the Ascendant. If the Ascendant tells how you present yourself, the Descendant tells what you go looking for in another person, often a quality you do not yet dare to live yourself. A Leo Ascendant, who loves to shine, readily draws Aquarius people, more detached and inventive. The whole 7th house, its planets and its ruler, sharpens this portrait, explained on the houses page.

This part says what draws you, not who you will meet. For a fuller portrait of the person your chart calls in, with the Darakaraka and the Ascendant of the D9, the future partner reading takes over.

The Navamsha: love that ripens over time

The fourth part leaves your Western chart for your Vedic charts, in the sidereal zodiac. The D9, or Navamsha, is the chart Indian tradition opens for partnership and commitment. A fragile Venus in the birth chart can turn out strong there: hesitant beginnings, then a love that gains confidence over the years. The reverse also happens, and then asks you to tend what seemed a given.

The Darakaraka is the planet with the lowest degree in its sign among the seven classical planets. Jaimini makes it the significator of the spouse: it shows the kind of bond your soul turns towards. Crossed with the 7th house of the D9, it gives the reading its depth. The method for linking these charts is detailed in crossing the charts.

Without a birth time, the reading uses your Western chart alone: Venus, Mars, the Moon and their aspects are still read, but not the Ascendant, the Descendant or the houses, and the D9 is not opened, because it depends on the time to within a few minutes.

Tensions turned into strengths

A square between Venus and Saturn, an opposition between the Moon and Mars, Chiron close to Venus: these aspects look frightening on their own, yet they mostly describe what love has come to teach you. Saturn on Venus teaches patience and gives bonds that hold; the Moon facing Mars learns to voice a need before it turns into anger; Chiron near Venus often makes people deeply gentle with the wounds of others.

So the reading never stops at a difficulty: it names the tension, then what it makes possible. The aspects page explains how squares, oppositions and conjunctions are read.

An example of a love reading

Take a chart imagined for the example: Scorpio Ascendant, so a Taurus Descendant, ruled by Venus; Venus in Cancer in the 9th house; Mars in Capricorn in the 3rd; Moon in Pisces in the 5th, square Saturn. The reading would describe a tender, protective way of loving that opens up through travel and long conversations, and a desire expressed through messages, attentions and concrete plans.

The heart needs dreams and gentleness, but the square to Saturn teaches it to ask clearly for what it hopes for. The Taurus Descendant draws calm, sensual, reliable presences. In the D9, a Venus in Virgo speaks of a love proven through small everyday gestures. The gesture for the week: write to someone dear what you admire in them, expecting nothing back.

What about compatibility between two people?

This reading speaks only of you, so that you know yourself before comparing. It judges no relationship and does not say who it will work with. When you want to set two charts side by side, synastry compares your planets with the other person’s, and the couple page reads the bond between two people. A precise question about your love life? Your chart answers you.

You now know how you love. To draw the person your chart calls in, their portrait, their soul and the areas of life where your paths cross:

Frequently asked questions

Where do you see love in a birth chart?

In several places at once: Venus for attraction and tenderness, Mars for desire, the Moon for emotional needs, the 5th house for romance, the 7th house and the Descendant for the partner. In Vedic astrology, the Navamsha (D9) and the Darakaraka complete the picture for commitment.

What does Venus say about my love life?

Its sign describes what you find beautiful and how you give, its house the area where love is lived most naturally, its aspects what makes it easier or tests it. The reading also looks at it in your D9, to see how that love evolves over time.

Does the reading tell me when I will meet someone?

No. It describes the way you love, your needs, what draws you and what love has come to teach you. It gives no date and no promise of a meeting: it helps you recognise the bond that suits you and move towards it with more clarity.

Do I need my birth time?

It helps a great deal. Without it, the reading uses your Western chart alone: Venus, Mars, the Moon and their aspects, with no Ascendant, Descendant or houses. The Navamsha and the Darakaraka need the time, because the Ascendant of the D9 changes sign in about a dozen minutes.

How is this different from the future partner reading?

This page is about you: how you love, what your heart needs, what love teaches you. The future partner reading looks at the other side: the portrait of the person your chart calls in, through the Descendant, the Darakaraka and the Ascendant of the D9.

Does this reading replace a synastry?

No, it prepares for one. It reads your chart alone, without judging any relationship. Synastry compares two charts planet by planet to see how two people fit together; it is better to know your own way of loving before crossing it with someone else’s.
