Focused reading
Your professional potential: the work your chart has written for you
Enter your date, time and place of birth: the site gathers everything your chart says about work, from the Midheaven to the D10 chart, and composes a reading in six parts, from your calling to the step to take this week. No job imposed on you: the fields where you shine, a way of working, and the season you are going through.
Your date, time and place of birth. Without the time, the reading works from your planets: the exact time adds the houses, the Ascendant and the Vedic charts.
What your career reading looks at
Below the form, a first block lists the placements that matter for work, each linked to the page that explains it: the Midheaven and the planet that rules it, the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, the planets in your 10th and 6th houses, then, on the Vedic side, the Ascendant and the 10th house of your D10, your Amatyakaraka and the current Vimshottari period.
The reading that follows is composed from your exact chart. It does not talk about work in general: it starts from your degrees, your houses, your divisional charts, and it says why it puts forward each idea. Nothing hides behind obscure vocabulary, and every technical notion has its own page if you want to dig deeper.
The six parts of your reading
The reading always unfolds in the same order, from the most visible to the most personal, then from the present towards action. Each part rests on precise placements, which you find in the block at the top.
- Your calling: the Midheaven, the summit of your chart, and its ruler, the planet that shows where this calling draws its energy.
- Your talents: the Sun, what makes you shine; Mercury, your way of thinking and exchanging; the planets placed in your 10th and 6th houses.
- Your way of working: Saturn for discipline and staying power, Mars for drive and competition, the 6th house for daily routine, colleagues and the rhythm that suits you.
- Your work in your D10: the Ascendant and 10th house of the Dashamsha, the Amatyakaraka, then the D9, which tells whether the promise holds.
- The season you are going through: the current Vimshottari major period and the planet that rules it.
- Your step forward: one concrete action, doable this week, drawn from everything above.
Why everything starts at the Midheaven
The Midheaven is the highest point of your chart at the moment of birth: the part of you that can be seen from afar. It is the cusp of the 10th house in most house systems, and tradition reads there reputation, the direction a public life takes, the role others recognise in you.
Its sign sets the colour: a Midheaven in Capricorn seeks to build and to last, in Gemini to connect and pass things on, in Pisces to heal or to inspire. Its ruler shows the channel this calling flows through. Placed in the 3rd house, it runs through writing and speech; in the 7th, through partnerships; in the 12th, through behind-the-scenes work or service to a cause.
The D10, the Amatyakaraka and the D9: work up close
The Dashamsha cuts each sign into ten parts and forms a whole chart devoted to action in the world. Its Ascendant describes the professional image you project; its 10th house, the place where your work bears fruit. The D10 Dashamsha page details how it is calculated and read.
In Jaimini astrology, each planet receives a role according to its degree within its sign. The Amatyakaraka, the second most advanced planet, is the soul’s advisor: it points to the field where your work best serves the path of your soul. The Jaimini karakas are explained one by one.
It remains to see whether the promise holds. The D9 Navamsha shows the inner strength of each planet: an Amatyakaraka or a 10th-house ruler well placed in the D9 gives a career that takes shape with ease; weaker, it asks for more consistency, and that consistency becomes your signature.
The D10 and the D9 only open with a birth time: their Ascendants change within minutes. Without a time, the reading works from your Western chart alone, with no houses, no Ascendant and no Midheaven.
The season you are in, with no dates and no predictions
The Vimshottari system divides a life into major periods, each ruled by a planet. The reading names yours and what that planet brings to light for work: a Saturn period invites consolidation, a Mercury period learning and communicating, a Rahu period daring new ground.
It announces no dated event, neither a promotion nor a change of job on a given date. It tells you which energy is in the foreground, so that you can work with it rather than against it. To see your periods and sub-periods, the dasha calculator unfolds them one by one.
An example career reading
Here is an imaginary chart, to see how the pieces fit together. The Midheaven is in Virgo, its ruler Mercury in Leo in the 11th house. The Sun sits in the 10th house. On the Vedic side, the D10 Ascendant is in Libra, the Amatyakaraka is Saturn, and Saturn is in Libra in the D9, its sign of exaltation. The current period is Jupiter’s.
The reading would say something like this. The calling runs through precision, analysis, care for work done well; Mercury in the 11th turns it towards the collective, networks, projects carried by a group. The Sun in the 10th likes to be seen and to take on a role others rely on. The D10 in Libra seeks balance and fair judgement, and Saturn as Amatyakaraka, exalted in the D9, promises an authority earned over time that holds. The Jupiter period favours passing things on: training, advising, sharing what has been learnt.
The suggested step could be simple: write down three recent situations where someone came to you to settle a question or explain something, and offer this week to lead a team discussion on one of them. No job title is named: these are fields and a dynamic, for you to recognise in your own life.
How to read your reading and go further
Read the part about your calling first, asking yourself where this energy already shows in your path: it often describes something you do without thinking. Then compare your talents with your way of working: a gap between the two often shows where you wear yourself out for nothing.
If a planet comes back in several parts, it is your common thread. Open its page among the planets, then your full birth chart to see it in its wheel. A precise question about a project or a change of path can go to Your chart answers you, which reads the same charts. And for the other side of work, what it brings in, the money reading takes over, as the life purpose reading does for deeper meaning.
Once your reading is done, open your full Vedic chart: the wheel, the D10, the D9 and your karakas, chart by chart.
