How to calculate your love compatibility from two birth charts, and read it

What do you need to enter to calculate your love compatibility?

The form is two cards side by side, “You” and “The other person”. For each one: a first name, optional, used to label the placements on the page, then the date, time and city of birth. If your village is not listed, the nearest large town works: within 30 km, the chart is the same to the degree.

1. Open the compatibility calculator, free and with no sign-up.
2. Fill in the “You” card: a first name if you like, then date, time and “City of birth”.
3. Fill in “The other person” the same way.
4. Tap “Calculate our compatibility”: the page for the two of you opens within seconds.

What if one of you does not know their birth time?

Tick “Unknown” next to the time: the calculation still runs. That chart is then cast for noon. The planets’ signs stay correct, but it has no Ascendant and no houses: at the top of the page, its Ascendant box reads “time unknown”, and its wheel has no houses.

Most aspects between planets remain valid, because Venus, Mars, Mercury and the slow planets barely move in a day. The Moon, however, travels about 13 degrees a day: without a time, read its aspects more loosely. The reading of your bond takes this into account and never mentions houses or an Ascendant for the person whose time is missing. What the compatibility page shows you

At the top, in small letters, “Compatibility of Camille and Hugo”, one line per birth, then three boxes: each person’s Sun, Moon and Ascendant, with their degree. Every sign leads to its interpretation page. Just below, a summary bar takes you in one tap to the Reading, Questions, Offers, Wheels or Details.

Then comes the reading of your bond, composed in a few seconds from your two exact charts. It speaks to “the two of you”, from “What connects you” to “Your path together”, by way of “How you love each other” and “Your frictions, and what they teach you”. Under each heading, small tags name the placements the part is built on, such as Camille’s Venus trine Hugo’s Mars.

The first parts appear straight away. The rest opens with a free account: it is written for the two of you and stays in your space, together with both charts (create an account). How these readings work is covered on the express reading page. Below the reading you will find:

Your compatibility scores and the table of aspects

Inside “Your compatibility in detail”, the “Your compatibility scores” fold gives four scores out of 5: Love, Communication, Longevity and Passion. The site calculates them from the aspects: love looks mainly at the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and Ascendant, communication at Mercury and the Moon, longevity at Saturn’s contacts, passion at those of Mars and Pluto. The same fold shows each person’s Venus and Mars.

“Every aspect between your two charts” lists up to thirty contacts, from the strongest to the lightest, with their orb: the distance in degrees from the exact aspect. The smaller the orb, the more the contact is felt day to day. An aspect between two planets opens its own page in one tap. The “Your key contacts and your levers” fold sums up the relationship by rules, with your strengths and your levers.

A low score is not a verdict: it shows where the relationship needs attention, not that it is doomed. Always read it alongside the table of aspects, which shows where it comes from.

How to read a synastry chart: the aspects that really count

A synastry chart reads both ways. One person’s Venus touching the other’s Mars does not tell the same story as the first person’s Mars facing the second person’s Venus: always check whose planet is whose. Start with the personal planets and the Ascendant, which weigh most in the calculation and in life as a couple.

Then look at the nature of the aspect. A conjunction fuses two energies, trines and sextiles flow easily, squares and oppositions rub. A couple with no tension at all falls asleep, a couple made only of squares wears itself out: what matters is balance, plus a few tight contacts between personal planets. • Sun and Moon: the contact of recognition. One person’s Sun on the other’s Moon gives the feeling of being understood without having to explain.
• Moon and Moon, Moon and Venus: emotional comfort, the way you reassure each other, what hurts without meaning to.
• Venus and Mars: attraction and desire. A conjunction or a trine lights up fast, a square keeps the spark alive along with some friction.
• The Ascendant: one person’s planet on the other’s Ascendant gives the sense of having always known each other. You need both birth times to see it.
• Saturn on a personal planet: commitment and longevity. Sometimes heavy, it is often what holds a couple together over time.
