Asking Vega what you are going through right now: transits, lunations, your year

To find out what the sky is activating for you right now, ask Vega: she reads your transits calculated on your chart, the lunations and the house they touch for you, retrogrades, eclipses, and your year through the solar return. She answers with a climate, a dynamic and levers, never with the date of an event.

How do you ask Vega what you are going through?

Tap the button at the bottom right of any page, write your question the way you would say it, then send. For an answer about you, Vega starts from your chart calculated to the exact place and minute: calculate your birth chart first, or write your date, time and place of birth in the question, and the site offers to check them and then calculate, without using up a question.

Vega also knows where you are: on the My transits page, she talks about your transits. Every placement, degree and date she quotes comes from the site’s calculation, never from a guess. The chat guide covers the rest step by step.

Your transits for today, this week and this month

A transit is a planet in the current sky forming an angle with a point of your natal chart (what is a transit?). The slow planets, from Jupiter to Pluto, stay on the same point for months: they draw the backdrop of the period. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars colour a few days, the Moon a single day.

For today, Vega looks at today’s Moon, the house of your chart it is crossing and the fast planets exact on one of your points. For the week or the month, she relies on the major passages under way, with their orb, and on the houses the slow planets are crossing. The transits encyclopedia gives the meaning of every combination, and your personal transits explains how to read them yourself.

Without a birth time, your transits are read on your planets, without the houses or the Ascendant: why the time matters.

Lunations, and the house they touch in your chart

The new moon is the time to sow, the full moon the time to take stock. Vega knows the lunation that has just passed and the next new and full moons, each with its date, time, sign and degree, calculated as on the lunar calendar.

On your chart, she says what each one touches: the natal house where it falls, and its aspects within three degrees of your natal points. That is where the lunation plays out for you: a new moon in the 10th house relaunches a work project, a full moon in the 7th puts a relationship in the spotlight.

To follow these rhythms month after month on the site, see the cycles of the sky.

Retrogrades and eclipses, when your question mentions them

A retrograde planet seems to move backwards through the zodiac: a time to review its area of life, speech and contracts for Mercury, relationships for Venus, action for Mars. When your question mentions one, Vega receives the retrogrades under way and those of the coming months, with their dates and signs, as on the retrograde planets page.

Eclipses, new and full moons close to the lunar Nodes, open or close longer chapters. On your chart, an eclipse is read like a lunation, through the house it touches. Today’s sky, for its part, shows the current positions for everyone: see how to read it.

Your year, through the solar return

For “What does my year hold?”, Vega reads your solar return: the chart of the moment the Sun comes back to its birth degree, which sets the climate of the year from one birthday to the next. The site calculates it, Ascendant of the year included, and you can also ask about the year ahead.

To see the chart itself, the solar return calculator sets it on a wheel, and the solar return explains how to read it. Transits speak for the month, the solar return for the year: the two answer each other.

How to read a “when”: a climate, not the date of an event

Vega predicts neither the date of an event nor a fate written in advance. For a question about timing, she relies on the transit periods and the solar return calculated by the site. The dates she gives are the sky’s: when a passage begins, when it is exact, when it comes apart. “Will I find a job in March?” gets what your transits say about that period for your work, not a dated yes.

  • The climate: the colour of the period, through the planets at work and the houses they cross.
  • The dynamic: what is tightening, what is peaking, what is coming loose.
  • The levers: what you can launch, decide or let go of during that time.

A question about health, pregnancy, bereavement, legal proceedings or money to invest gets a reply from the site pointing you to a professional: it is neither counted nor kept.

Questions to ask Vega about the present moment

Name the period and the area of life on your mind. For someone close to you whose chart you have kept, name them: their transits are read on their own chart, never mixing their placements with yours (Vega and your loved ones). A few examples that work well:

  • “What is being activated for me this week?”
  • “What period is opening for me this month, at work?”
  • “What does the next full moon touch in my chart?”
  • “Does Mercury retrograde concern me?”
  • “What is Hugo going through right now?”

A follow-up question is understood: “And in love?”, after a question about your month, is enough. The conversation follows you from page to page: Vega keeps the thread.

Your Vedic periods: the current major period and sub-period

In Vedic astrology, Vega also knows your Vimshottari dashas: the current major period, ruled by one planet for years, and the sub-period that colours it for months. For a “when”, she has the dates of the sub-periods of the current major period and of the next one. She needs your birth time.

The major period sets the backdrop of the chapter, the sub-period its colour, and the transits say when that backdrop wakes up. Ask “Next month, with my current period?”: Vega crosses your transits and your period, says when she is speaking in Vedic terms and never mixes the placements of the two zodiacs. See Vega and Vedic astrology.

Open your transits of the week: the page lays them over your chart, and Vega, opened from it, answers you about what you are going through.

Frequently asked questions

Can Vega tell me what lies ahead this month?

She can tell you what the sky is activating for you this month: your transits calculated by the site, the lunations and the house they touch in your chart. She answers with a climate, a dynamic and levers, never with the date of an event or a fate written in advance.

Do I need my birth time to ask about my transits?

No, but it matters. Without a time, Vega reads your transits on your planets, without the houses or the Ascendant. With the time, she also says which house of your chart today’s Moon, each lunation and the slow planets fall in: that is where the period plays out for you.

How many questions can I ask about my transits?

Five free questions a week without an account, ten with a free account, and unlimited questions with My Birth Chart+, €9.99 a month. They come back every Monday, and a reply from the site that is only a form does not count.

What does the next full moon touch in my chart?

Ask Vega: the site calculates the date, time, sign and degree of the next full moon, then the house of your chart where it falls and its aspects within three degrees of your natal points. The answer says what this full moon lights up for you, and what you can do with it.

What is the difference between Vega and the My transits page?

The My transits page shows your week: the strongest passage, today’s Moon, your reading of the week and the detail of your transits. Vega answers your precise question about the period, area of life, person or lunation on your mind, from the same calculations. Opened on that page, she talks about your transits.
