Talking to Vega about someone close: their chart, yours and your compatibility

To talk to Vega about someone close to you, keep their chart, then name that person in your question: “What does Hugo look for in a relationship?”. She reads their whole chart without mixing it up with yours, and “Am I compatible with Hugo?” gets an answer for the two of you, with no form, when both charts are known. Their birth details are only used to calculate their chart.

Keep a loved one’s chart so that Vega knows it

Vega knows the charts you have kept: up to four on this device and, if you are signed in, those in your space, up to twelve. To add one, calculate their chart and give it a first name: it joins the device’s list. Once signed in, “Keep this chart and its reading”, under the reading, files it in your space, and you find it again on all your devices.

The top of the panel reminds you who she knows (“also Hugo and Lou”), and her opening line names the charts she has in mind. A chart received by link, however, does not join the list: open its page to talk about that person, or calculate it yourself. See also keeping a chart.

Give each chart the first name you will write in your questions: that is the name Vega recognises.

Name the person in your question

Write their first name. Vega reads their whole chart, planets, houses and aspects, along with their current transits, and answers you about them without ever mixing up their placements and yours. Accents and capitals don’t matter, except for a first name that is also a word, like Rose or Hope: keep its capital letter.

On the page of a loved one’s chart, Vega answers for that chart. If you have marked your own in your space (“This is my chart”), a question about “me” is about your chart, and a question about “this chart” is about theirs. For a “when” question, she describes a climate, a dynamic and levers, never the date of an event: Vega and the present moment explains where her periods come from.

  • “What does Hugo look for in a relationship?”
  • “How should I approach a difficult conversation with Camille?”
  • “Why do Martine and I clash so often?”
  • “What is Julien going through right now?”

Add a person to the conversation, with the “+”

The person’s chart isn’t kept yet? Add them without leaving the panel. Their date and city of birth are enough; the time refines the reading, and the “Unknown” box lets you do without it.

With no chart on the page, the “+” offers “Calculate my chart” or “A compatibility”, which opens both forms. A person added this way is there for the conversation: to find them again another time, keep their chart. The rest of the panel is described in Vega’s step-by-step guide.

  1. When Vega is answering about your chart, tap the “+” to the left of the field, then “Add a person”.
  2. In “Your partner’s chart”, enter their date and city of birth, and their time if you know it.
  3. Tap “Add to the conversation”: the line “Your questions are now about both your charts” appears, with both first names.
  4. Ask your question: your two charts answer together, cross aspects included. “See our full compatibility” opens the full page, and “Back to my chart alone” returns you to your own chart.

The birth details entered in this form never go through the text of a question: they are used to calculate the chart, nothing else.

“Am I compatible with Hugo?”: compatibility with no form

When Vega knows both charts, yours and Hugo’s, the question is enough: the answer comes for the two of you, cross aspects included, and your two charts stay together for the next questions. If one is missing, the site tells you so and opens only the missing form; that reply from the site uses up no question.

Two kept charts, neither of them yours, are compared the same way: “Compatibility between Julien and Louise?” brings their two charts together, with no form, whether or not the page shows a chart. A question about two signs (“an Aries and a Libra”) gets a general answer, which zodiac sign compatibility takes further.

To read your bond in detail, the compatibility calculator sets out your two charts aspect by aspect, the synastry aspects interpret each contact, and the page on love compatibility explains how to read it all. For a written reading of your relationship, see the couple birth chart.

A child’s chart: Vega talks to the parent

For a child under twelve, calculate their chart and open its page: the site recognises a child’s chart, and Vega then speaks to you, the parent. She talks about “your child”, in a gentle register, never predicting and with nothing medical. The panel opens on “Their whole chart, their current transits, this page and the site’s texts in mind: ask anything about your child.”

Ask what soothes them, what reassures them, how to support them through anger or shyness. On an adult’s chart, yours included, a question about “my son” or “my daughter” gets a reply from the site: a child’s chart is read with their parents, in a frame of its own, that of the baby birth chart. That reply uses up no question.

On a child’s chart, the “+” does not offer to add a person: the conversation stays on the child.

What stays private when you talk about someone close

A loved one’s birth details are only used to calculate their chart. To compose the answer, Vega receives that calculated chart, its placements, houses and aspects, never their date, time or place of birth, except what you might write yourself in a question. Birth details written there are read by the site, which offers its form without using up a question.

A first name is enough: no surname, no contact details. Kept charts stay where you put them: in this browser, where “Forget”, on the home page card, removes them, or in your space, where “Remove” takes them away with their readings. Once signed in, you delete your questions under “My questions”; the privacy policy gives the details, and Vega keeps the thread explains how the conversation lives.

A loved one’s chart is calculated in a few seconds, for free: give it a first name, and Vega recognises it in your questions.

Frequently asked questions

Can Vega read a loved one’s birth chart?

Yes, when their chart is kept on this device or in your space, or when you are on its page. Name the person in your question: Vega reads their whole chart, planets, houses and aspects, without ever mixing up their placements and yours.

Do I need to fill in a form for a compatibility?

No, when both charts are known: “Am I compatible with Hugo?” gets an answer for the two of you, cross aspects included. If one is missing, the site opens only the missing form, and that reply from the site uses up no question.

Can I compare two people close to me?

Yes. With two kept charts, ask “Compatibility between Julien and Louise?”: Vega brings their two charts together, with no form, even if neither of them is yours and the page shows no chart.

Can I ask questions about my child’s chart?

Yes, on the page of their chart, for a child under twelve: Vega speaks to you, the parent, in a gentle register, without predicting and with nothing medical. On an adult’s chart, a question about “my son” or “my daughter” points you to that separate frame.

What does Vega do with my loved ones’ birth details?

They are only used to calculate their chart. To compose the answer, Vega receives the calculated chart, never your loved ones’ date, time or place of birth, except what you might write yourself in a question.

Do I need the other person’s birth time?

No: their date and city of birth are enough to add them, and the “Unknown” box lets you do without it. The time adds their Ascendant and houses, which refine the reading of their chart as well as of your compatibility.
