Vega lights up your chart: every planet in her answer glows on your wheel

When Vega talks about your chart, on its page as anywhere else on the site, she answers with your chart in front of her. Under her name, a small wheel of your chart is waiting: when her answer names a planet, “your Moon”, “Saturn”, “your Ascendant”, tap the word. The planet lights up on the wheel, with its place in your chart and the same planet in today’s sky. You see what she means without leaving the conversation.

A small wheel of your chart, under Vega’s name

When you open Vega on the page of your chart, or on any page once your chart is kept on this device, a “Your sky” line sits under her name; tap it, and it unfolds your chart’s wheel, in miniature. Each gold dot is a planet of your birth, at its place on the circle of the zodiac: the Sun, the Moon, the planets out to Pluto, the North Node and Chiron. When your birth time is known, two lines mark the Ascendant and the Midheaven, as on the large wheel of the page.

Around them, in dotted outline, the ten planets of today’s sky. You see at a glance where each planet is passing right now compared with your birth: a reading of your transits, in miniature, above the conversation.

The site calculates the wheel with the page, from your birth details, with the same calculation as your chart’s wheel. Vega never places a planet herself: she writes, the wheel shows. Until a word is chosen, a line invites you to tap a planet in an answer.

Tap a word, the planet lights up

In Vega’s answers, the names of the planets in your chart carry a dotted gold underline, whether the wheel is open or folded. Positions written as links, such as “Venus in Taurus”, keep their link underline. Both make the wheel speak.

  1. Ask Vega your question from your chart’s page: “How do I love, with my Venus?”, “Why does Saturn weigh on me right now?”.
  2. In her answer, find the planet names with a dotted gold underline: “the Moon”, “Saturn”, “your Ascendant”.
  3. Tap one: the wheel unfolds if it was folded, the planet lights up on it, with a halo, and its line appears below. On a computer, with the wheel open, hovering over it with the mouse is enough.

The chosen word lights up in the answer too: you always know which planet the wheel is showing, even when rereading a long paragraph. Another word you tap takes its place.

What the wheel tells you: your birth and today’s sky

Below the wheel, two lines. The first gives the planet’s place in your chart: “Moon in Sagittarius · house 4”. The sign gives its manner, the house gives the area of your life where it acts. The second gives where the same planet stands today, to the degree: “Moon today at 4°34′ Sagittarius”.

Together they tell a passage: when today’s planet comes close to its birth place, or to another planet of your chart, it wakes up what that planet carries. Vega explains it in words, the wheel shows it at a glance. To follow these passages day after day, the My transits page sets them out in a calendar.

For the Ascendant, the line gives its sign: “Virgo rising”. It has no twin in today’s sky: it is the point of the horizon at the moment of your birth, unique to your place and your time.

The words that light up a planet

Vega writes with the words of astrology: a position, a house, an aspect, a planet’s name on its own. Each one lights up what it names, and only that.

  • A position, “your Venus in Taurus”: Venus lights up, in your chart and in today’s sky.
  • A house, “Mars in house 7”: Mars lights up, and its line gives its house.
  • An aspect, “Venus square Mars”: both planets light up together, so you see the angle between them.
  • The Ascendant, “your Leo rising”: the horizon line and its sign.
  • A name on its own, “Saturn”, “the Moon”, “your Ascendant”: the planet named, even without a sign or a house around it.

On a computer, hovering is enough, links included, and clicking a link opens its page. On a phone, a first tap lights up the planet, even when it is written as a link (a position, an aspect, a house); the line then tells you that a second tap opens its interpretation page.

Fold it away, bring it back

The wheel starts folded, as a single “Your sky” line: that way the conversation keeps more than half of the screen, even on a phone. The “Your sky” button unfolds it, “Hide your sky” folds it, and that choice is kept on this device for your next conversations. A planet tapped in an answer unfolds it too, just long enough to show it to you.

Folded, nothing changes in Vega’s answers: links still lead to their pages, and planet names keep their dotted line, ready to unfold it. On a phone, the conversation keeps almost the full height of the screen (Vega on your phone).

When the wheel does not appear

The wheel follows the chart of the conversation. On the page of your chart, your transits, your solar return or a focused reading, it is the page’s chart; elsewhere, the home page, the horoscope, the encyclopedia, the sky today, it is the one you kept on this device: one chart, one wheel. On a compatibility page, where two charts answer each other, it stays hidden: a small wheel cannot hold two charts without blurring both.

As long as no chart is kept on the device, Vega answers without a wheel on pages that don’t carry one, such as the sky today: there is no birth to show. Calculate your chart: it is kept on this device, and the wheel follows you in the chat on every page, with the conversation you hold there (Vega keeps the thread).

Without a birth time, the wheel keeps your planets and today’s sky, but neither the Ascendant nor the houses: each planet’s line then gives its sign alone, “Venus in Aries”. Once the time is given, they appear (the birth time).

Calculate your chart, then ask Vega a question from its page: every planet in her answer lights up on your wheel.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some words in the answer underlined with gold dots?

They are the names of the planets in your chart, on a page that carries Vega’s small wheel. Tap one: the wheel unfolds under Vega’s name and the planet lights up on it, with its place in your chart and in today’s sky. With the wheel open, on a computer, hovering is enough.

Does the wheel show my chart or today’s sky?

Both. The gold dots are the planets of your birth, the dotted ones today’s planets. When a planet lights up, the line below gives its place in your chart, then the place of the same planet in today’s sky, to the degree.

Why does the wheel not appear on a compatibility page?

A compatibility reading sets two charts face to face, and a small wheel cannot hold two of them clearly: so it stays hidden on those pages. On the page of each of the two charts, it appears as usual.

How do I make it disappear?

Tap “Hide your sky” under Vega’s name: it folds into a single line, and your choice is kept on this device. It also starts folded, to leave room for the conversation; “Your sky”, or a planet tapped in an answer, unfolds it.

Can Vega put a planet in the wrong place?

The wheel does not depend on what Vega writes: the site calculates it from your birth details, with the same calculation as your chart’s large wheel. The word you tap only points to the planet to light up, never to its place.
