How to report an error or suggest a correction, step by step
To suggest a correction or report an error in a text on the site, highlight the passage: “Suggest a correction” appears, a sheet opens, you write what is wrong, and it goes to our team. No account, no required e-mail: every suggestion is reviewed, and the ones that improve the text update it for everyone.
How do you report an error in a text on the site?
The feature is deliberately simple: no form to hunt for, the correction starts from the passage itself. It works on the site’s text pages (planets, signs, houses, aspects, transits, compatibilities) as well as in your own express reading, titles included, in English and in French.
- Highlight the passage with your finger or your mouse: a word, a sentence, a paragraph or a title, up to six hundred characters.
- Tap “Suggest a correction”: with a mouse, a bubble appears above the selection; on a phone, a bar shows at the bottom of the screen.
- In the sheet that opens, the “Selected passage” is already copied in. Under “Your correction or remark”, write what it should say instead, or what seems inaccurate to you.
- Tap “Send the suggestion”: the message “Thank you! Your suggestion has arrived.” confirms it has gone.
Interpretation pages carry the label “Living text · correctable by its readers” at the top, and a line under the text reminds you how: “An inaccuracy? Highlight the passage to suggest a correction.”
On a phone, where is the correction bubble?
On a touchscreen there is no floating bubble: it would get in the way of your phone’s own menu (Copy, Look Up). Instead, a “Suggest a correction” bar slides up at the bottom of the screen as soon as you release the selection, showing the start of the quoted passage. Tap it, and the sheet rises from the bottom of the screen.
- Press and hold a word to select it.
- Drag the handles until they cover the passage you want.
- Lift your finger: the bar appears at the bottom of the screen, tap it.
No bar? The passage may be longer than six hundred characters, or it sits in an area that can’t be corrected: a form, a button, a menu, the footer or the chat panel. Narrow the selection down to the text itself.
What you can correct here, and what to report elsewhere
Anything written on a page can be corrected: an interpretation, a title, a caption, a sentence of your reading that doesn’t sound like you. For everything else, the site has other doors that fit better:
- An answer from the chat: under the answer, the “Report this answer” icon (see Your chart answers you).
- A page that won’t load, a button that doesn’t respond: the contact page, choosing “A problem on the site”.
- A topic the site doesn’t cover yet: the same page, choosing “An improvement idea”.
- A question about an order: the contact page again, with “My order”.
Is an e-mail required to suggest a correction?
No. The field is labelled “Your e-mail (optional, in case we need to reply)”: leave it empty if you like, the suggestion is sent anyway, with no account and no sign-up. If you fill it in, it is only used to write to you when a detail is missing to make a decision.
No notification is sent when a correction is applied: come back to the page later to see the updated text. Suggestions are never published as they are, nor publicly credited: the text improves for everyone, with no names and no rankings.
What happens to your suggested correction?
Each suggestion reaches our team with the page address and the quoted passage, which removes any ambiguity. It is reviewed in the light of the placement concerned. A correction that touches a fact (a placement, a degree, the date a planet enters a sign, a retrograde) is checked against the ephemerides and the site’s own calculation; if it improves the text, it goes in, in English and in French.
Calculations, though, are not a matter of opinion: a suggestion asking to change a placement is examined, but the result follows astronomy. If a calculation looks wrong to you, calculation accuracy explains where the placements come from, and the sky’s cycles how lunations and retrogrades are dated. Suggestions are handled in batches, and factual errors come first.
How to write a good correction
A clear suggestion takes a minute to handle, and has every chance of making it into the text. A few habits help a lot:
- Select just the passage at fault, not the whole page.
- Say what is wrong, then what it should say instead.
- Cite your source: the ephemeris you checked, a classical author, an exact date and time.
- One suggestion per passage: two errors on the same page, two submissions.
- Translation errors are worth reporting too: just mention the language.
No need to send the same suggestion several times: beyond a few submissions a minute, the site replies “Too many suggestions at once. Try again in a minute.”
Why an astrology site that its readers can correct?
A text about the Moon in Scorpio is read by people who really have the Moon in Scorpio: they spot the sentence that rings false before anyone else. That is why every interpretation page, from the planets to the signs, and even your own birth chart, can be annotated.
The Contribute page explains how the texts are written, what happens after a suggestion and what doesn’t change. On your first visit to a text page, a tip mentions it once (“See an inaccuracy?”); “Got it” puts it away for good.
