Help · How Vega calculates
How Vega calculates your chart to answer your question
Vega, the site’s astrology chat, does not answer from memory: she starts from your question, fetches the site’s calculations she needs (your chart, your transits, your year, a compatibility, the sky on a given date), then crosses what they say. They are the calculations behind the site’s pages, and a line in the panel says what she is looking at.
Why Vega calculates instead of answering from memory
Answering from memory means estimating the sky: knowing roughly where Venus was in 1990, without its degree or its house in your chart. Instead, Vega picks the calculations your question needs and asks the site for them; the site runs them to the exact place and minute, just as for your birth chart.
So every position, degree or date she quotes comes from a calculation, never from an estimate: that is what calculation accuracy explains. The site’s interpretation texts remain her reference, which she rereads and then puts in her own words. A general question, about a notion or a tradition, often needs no calculation at all.
The calculations Vega fetches, with examples
Among the site’s calculations, Vega takes the ones your question calls for, and only those. A few questions, and what she calculates for each:
- “Tell me about my chart”: your whole chart, planets, houses and aspects.
- “What is opening up for me this month?”: your transits for the month, as on My transits; or those of the day, the week, a period you choose.
- “What does my year hold?”: your solar return, from birthday to birthday.
- “Am I compatible with Hugo?”: the compatibility of your two charts, as in the compatibility calculator.
- “What was the sky like on my wedding day, 14 June 2025?”: the sky on that date.
- “Where does the next full moon fall in my chart?”: the sky calendar (lunations, eclipses, retrogrades, sign ingresses), with the house of each lunation.
- “What does the Leo horoscope say this week?”: the sign’s horoscope.
- “What does Venus in Scorpio mean?”: the site’s texts, and its search to find the right page.
A precise question helps Vega choose: name the period (“this month”) or the person (“with Hugo”).
Several calculations at once, three rounds at most
When two calculations do not depend on each other, Vega asks for them in the same round: “What lies ahead for me next month, and where does the new moon fall in my chart?” sends off your transits for the month and your lunations in one go.
A calculation that depends on another waits for the next round: she first reads your chart, then the site’s texts on the placement that stands out. Three rounds at most, then she answers: the wait stays short.
What the panel line says during the calculation
During the calculation, a line in the panel says what Vega is doing. It is written by the site, from the calculation requested, not by Vega. The most frequent ones:
- “Reading your chart…”: your whole chart.
- “Looking at the transits this month on your chart…”: your transits.
- “Crossing yours and Hugo…”: a compatibility.
- “Looking at the lunations…”: the new and full moons.
- “Reading what montheme.fr says…”: what the site writes about a subject.
- “Searching montheme.fr…”: the site’s search, to find the right page.
- “Looking through your conversations…”: with an account, your past questions.
The answer itself talks about the sky and your chart, never about the calculations: the line is enough to say where it starts from.
Reading an answer that crosses several calculations
When you ask for a lot at once (your chart and your transits, for example), Vega first answers with a short crossed synthesis: the signatures that repeat from one calculation to the next. The following questions go deeper into what is already calculated.
Because what has been calculated stays in the conversation, even after the page reloads: the site redoes it identically in a few milliseconds. “Tell me about my chart”, then “And my Venus?”: the chart is already there (Vega keeps the thread).
For a “when” question, she crosses your transits and your solar return: a climate, a dynamic, levers, never the date of an event. Vega and the present moment details how she reads the current sky.
In Vedic astrology: your sidereal chart and your periods
When you ask for it (“in Vedic”, a nakshatra, a dasha, “my D9”), Vega calculates your sidereal chart, alone or with the Western one, its useful divisional charts and your Vimshottari periods; this needs your birth time. The line then says “Calculating your chart in Vedic astrology and all its divisional charts…” or “Calculating the Vimshottari periods of your chart…”.
“Next month, with my current period?” asks for your transits for the month and your dashas in one go. “Tell me about my chart”, then “And in Vedic?”: Vega crosses the two zodiacs, the verdict first, without ever mixing their positions. “Only my D9, for love” calculates just the D1 and the D9; Vega and Vedic astrology covers the rest.
When a piece of information is missing
Your birth details, the other person’s or the year of a solar return are missing? Vega guesses nothing: under her answer, she offers the site’s form. A page of the site would help more? A button under the answer, built by the site, never a link written by her nor an order page, and only one suggestion per answer.
To add someone close to you yourself: the “+” to the left of the field, then “Add a person” (Vega and your loved ones). For your own chart, see calculating your birth chart.
A reply that is only a form never counts among your questions.
With an account: your conversations and your space
Signed in with a free account, Vega can reread your past conversations when you ask (“What did I ask about my work last week?”), if you keep your history: Vega and your past conversations.
She also knows your saved charts, your space (My Birth Chart+, remaining questions, horoscope by e-mail, alerts) and your written readings, never your e-mail address. She changes nothing herself: saving a chart or changing a setting is done in your space, whose page she can suggest.
When the site has nothing on your subject
Vega searches the site first, with the magnifying glass search. When it has nothing on a piece of knowledge (a tradition, a symbol, a festival), she can search beyond it, once at most per answer: the line says “Searching beyond montheme.fr…”.
The sources appear under the answer, “Sources consulted beyond montheme.fr”. Never a position or a date, never your first name or your birth details in the search: Vega searches for you.
What Vega does not do, and what she never receives
Your charts are designated for her by an identifier: Vega receives the site’s calculations, never your date, time or place of birth, nor those of the people close to you, except what you would write in a question (privacy policy).
For people aged eighteen and over, she lets the site point you to a professional for health, pregnancy, bereavement, legal proceedings or money to invest; the chat guide covers the rest. What she never does:
- Predict the date of an event, an illness or a misfortune.
- Make up a position or a degree.
- Write a link: the buttons under the answer come from the site.
- Order, pay or change a setting for you.
